Mandy and Scott first crossed paths in 1998 at Bethel University/Seminary. A few years after becoming a married duo, they stepped into the entrepreneurial world together and founded Empowering Ranch. Their original dream had been to purchase a ranch and run it like a retreat center where they could offer teaching, speaking, and counseling to others, but over time they discerned God nudging them to release the idea of owning a ranch and instead embrace the idea of being a ranch by bringing what they desired to offer to the people.

“Mandy is that rare speaker/teacher who makes the complex simple…and simply fascinating. She invites others to join her in the exploration of an idea or passage of Scripture which, on the surface, may seem familiar–but which then proceeds to unveil new facets of the diamond as she ushers those around her deeper into matters of the mind, heart, and soul.”
“Mandy is a delightful teacher. She has a gift for uncovering the life hiding all throughout Scripture, and she helps connect the dots back to our everyday lives. She teaches with a kind and empathetic heart, and our church community has been so incredibly thankful to have her creating beautiful spaces for learning and connection.”
“Mandy’s teaching is beautiful and thought provoking. She meets people where they are in the present and deepens their understanding of the past. Her teaching cracks open the text, inserting the context and the language needed to understand how biblical generations lived and experienced religion, leading to the way we experience life in Christ today.”
